October 3, 2009 - Heath Zeno and Ryan Mowrey passed their gokyu tests (green belt) at the Saturday class on May 2nd. They were uke for each other and Shomen consisted of Josef Rubal (nidan), Etsuro Nishiyachi (nidan), Phil Matcovich (nidan), and Tim Blake (Shodan). Congratulations Heath and Ryan! |

September 8, 2009 - On Saturday, September 5th a Aikido/Judo was held at the Dojo. Aikido techniques, which use the force of the opponent rather than brute strength were demonstrated by Aaron Ward. Paul Gelineau and Phil Matcovich showed several Judo throws, focusing on the breaking of an opponents balance. Paul, who is proficient in both both, also emphasised the many similarities between the two Ways.

April 11, 2009 - The third annual Green Mountain Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Camp is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday June 6th and 7th, 2009. The location will be The Vermont Brazilian Jiu JItsu and Self-Defense Academy, at 55 Leroy Rd in Williston, VT.
